The Internet is a lifesaving invention. We now live in a world where we can connect online and have global access to people, businesses, and resources in any part of the world. The internet has opened new horizons for everyone in a variety of ways.
People have become comfortable with technology. The new generation accept technology and prefer it to conventional tools such as being physically coached by a mentor. Online coaching fits into a busy day much easier than attending a live coaching class.
When coaching is done online, through a mobile device or tablet, it is instantaneous. You can view the video classes on your time as per your convenience.
I often hear how hard it can be for a student to start a coaching online, instead of attending a face to face lecture. There can be issues with getting to know the teacher, feeling comfortable with the medium, understanding the concepts or being regular with a schedule.
1. Some of the popular myths are:
2. It lacks a personal touch;
3. Getting in touch with the teacher for queries is difficult;
4. Connecting with the body language of the teacher;
5. Ability to maintain a strict schedule.
It might be true that it lacks the personal touch and also it takes a little time to connect with the teacher but isn't it same with YouTube Videos that we watch all day long. Remember the time, when you just started watching a Youtube Channel and didn't like it, but later it became your favourite.
Also, most of the teachers have provided a facility for students for asking queries through Whatsapp, Email or Call.
Further, for the question of maintaining a strict schedule, in my opinion, maintaining a schedule is more of a personal choice. Because I have seen people skipping their morning classes just because they couldn't wake up early.
Who says that having to be more self-disciplined is a disadvantage? Look at it this way: your online classes will not only teach you accounts or taxation, it will also help you become more self-motivated, a trait that will make you stand out in the workplace and beyond.
Thus, maintaining a schedule or not depends on the student itself. Moreover, to deal with this problem, you can find a study partner to study in a group and easily maintain a study schedule.
The Good Part:
It seems to me that online coaching works well for everyone. For a student who is working full time, it's advantages clearly outweighs the few inevitable cons:
Accessibility: If it's a live face to face class, you don't have the advantage to access it whenever-wherever you want. You have to go to the specific coaching class at a scheduled time and attend your classes over there. This in itself takes 1-2 hours of your valuable time.
On the other hand, with online coaching, you have the advantage of attending the classes at your own pace whether it's your home, your office or while commuting to a distant client place.
The flexibility of timing: When you're working full time, time becomes the scarcest resource that you have. Within a limited amount of time, you have to squeeze in everything that you have to do in a day. In such cases, it's obvious for studies to take a backseat and feeling that work deadlines are more important.
I learned that when you have flexibility in timings of your classes, you are more likely to complete them.
For example - There might be some days in your office when you have to handle a lot of work pressure, in those days going to a face-to-face class cannot be possible. On the other hand, on some other days, you have less workload and might be killing your time while playing candy crush. An online class fits well in both the situations.
Choosing your own pace: With
an online coaching, another edge is that students have the choice to choose
their own pace. In other words, there might be some technical topics on which
you can go slow and repeat them as many times as you want. On the other hand,
easy topics can be skipped at all.
Cost Effectiveness: In my opinion, education must be cheap (if not free) and available to all. Online coaching, as compared to other modes of coaching, are more economical in terms of money and the difference between the two, in terms of money is really significant. You also save money in terms of the costs of housing and transportation, which translates to lower expenditure and more savings.
